A Wedge is a mechanical device that separates parts of an object or two objects, by applying force that is perpendicular to the inclined surface of the wedge. I dont understand specifically what you mean when you ask Wedge as part of Horse. However, some horses have low heels and they can be cured by providing them with wedge heel shoes or wedge pads. That is the only relation between a wedge and a horse.

Wedges are usually used in corrective shoeing between the hoof and the shoe to correct the angle of the hoof. For some breeds of horses, wedges are used (still between the hoof and shoe) as an artifical way to pronounce the gait. Some farriers use wedges with pads to relieve discomfort from navicular disease by changing the angle the horse stands/moves.
