This Question is Answered

My Dog Has Diarrhea With Blood In It. What Could This Be? I Was A Way For Three Nights And My Dog Started After He Came Up To My Apt And Then Was Brought Back Down To My Neighbors.

This was the third night I was gone. He threw up NC (yellow acid?) and then started with a regular bowel movement and then dark color which appeared to be blood. When I got home he perked right up and outside of the runs with blood he is fine. He is not eating normal but has ate a little for me. Could he have gotten this just from me leaving (that was suggested) He hates the vet and I don't want to traumatize him again.

Bloody diarrhea can be the result of stress colitis--this could be from your being gone. Call your veterinarian's office--depending upon when your dog was last seen and how sick he is they may allow you to drop off a fecal sample.
Vomiting, anorexia, and lethargy along with diarrhea make his condition more serious and he will need an exam.
Diarrhea is often mild and self-limiting but if it does not resolve in 2-3 days or when blood is present usually needs to be treated with medication.

I took my dog to the vet before I received any answers. He is on 3 meds and had a lot of tests. The vet did say that me being gone probably had a lot to do with it. He is doing much better already. Today there wasn't any blood in his stool and he (knock on wood) hasn't thrown up today. He is being very difficult taking his meds though lol.
Will know more tomorrow after the test results are done

Then have the vet give you a sedative for the dog so that you can take him in without the trauma. But you do need to have him seen. Hope this helps, good luck to you and the pup.
