Cats don't, and you shouldn't let the cat do that, it can kill the kitty by getting stuck in the intestines, in the throat, or in the stomach. You should always make sure that there isn't any laying around for the cat to chew on. If the kitty did this recently, you should get the kitty to the vet, and have it xrayed.
