How Does The USA Trade?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

USA is rich in agricultural and mineral resources.  Though the country was quite self-sufficient in the past, augmented consumption on sources of energy has made the country reliant on certain imports. All said and done, the US is the largest producer of nuclear and electrical energy.  It is one of the leading countries in the world for the manufacture and export of butter, cotton, oats, barley, sugar, cow's milk and hog. It is the leading exporter in the world for wheat and corn. It ranks third in the world for the export of rice. Some of the other exports worth mentioning are aircraft, iron and steel products, power generating equipment, chemical, motor vehicles and electronic equipment.

The imports include petroleum and petroleum products, machinery, paper, spare parts for vehicles, ores and metal scraps. The major trading partners of US are Canada, Mexico, Japan, the UK, South Korea and Germany.
