    Craigavon is a small town. It is located in the County of Armagh in Northern Ireland. Craigavon mainly consists of residential complexes. Craigavon was given the status of a new town in the year 1965. The town was named after James Craig (1871-1940). James Craig was the first prime minister of the Northern Ireland. He was given the title of Viscount Craigavon. The city was designed to be linear city consisting of other counties such as Lurgan and Portadown. The town of Craigavon is very close to Lough Neagh. The Craigavon Urban Area (CUA) comprising of Bleary, Lurgan and Portadown have a combined population total of 60,000. The headquarters of the Craigavon Borough Council are also located in Craigavon itself. The entire borough has an estimated population of 75,000.
