Is Amount Of Substance Scalar Or Vector?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The physical quantities which are described in magnitude as well as direction are known as vector quantities for example velocity, displacement, acceleration etc. Whereas scalar quantities are those quantities which are only defined by their magnitude for example speed, distance etc. Amount of a substance is a scalar quantity because it has only magnitude and does not require any direction to explain it.
