How Do You Ride A Horse?

Answer Question

4 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

For those who never have, riding stables is a good place to start. They match you with a horse to your skill level and they can instruct you on safety measures. The horses usually stay on the trails and then you can move up to riding friends and relatives horses. If that is too much there is always the circle ponies at the county fair. If you want specific information on riding, the library is the best place to start they even have CD's and videos for visual assistance.

First get the horse tacked up then put your foot in the left stirrup and swing up then put your right foot in the right stirrup and grab hold of the reins then softly kick the horse with the back of the heel and it will take off and make sure that you hold on .
First walk then trot then canter then gallop and you get better and better
