    Isfield is a small village situated on the A26 road south of Uckfield. The villages was initially parallel to ford where the Roman road use to traverse the river Ouse.

    This village has a great history connected to the Saxon, Norman and Tudor Eras. People believe that King Harold had spent the night prior to the Battle of Hastings at his demesne in the village, situated where Isfield Place currently stands. The Lavender Line Steam railway system is also based here. Other famous places in Isfield comprise of a filed, which is commonly used for camping purpose and the Laughing Fish, which is a little public house along with a garden. These two spots are located exactly next to Lavender Line. Lavender line is an ancient railway found at the Isfield station.
