What Is The Difference Between Tropical And Sub Tropical Landscape Design?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Take a drive from eastern United States down to Florida and you will see some remarkable differences between the flora and fauna of the region. The tropical areas of the world lie between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn on either sides of the equator. This is approximately 23°30' North and 23°30' South latitude. The regions that fall within this zone have dry seasons and monsoon or wet seasons. They lack any form of four season cycle as in Spring-Summer-Autumn-Winter seen in the temperate zones. The Sub-Tropic zones exist beyond the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn. A landscape that is themed around sub-tropic conditions will have plants and trees that are broad-leafed evergreens and trees such as live oak, southern magnolia, Crape myrtle and hardy palms.
