What Planet Has The Brightest Ring System?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

The planet with the brightest ring system is Saturn. The second largest planet discovered by Galileo has its beauty attributed to the magnificent rings that he discovered as 'handles' on either side of the planet. The ring system of Saturn is divided into seven major divisions with alphabetical designators. From the innermost ring to the outermost ring, the designators are D, C, B, A, F, G and E. Every major division can be split into thousands of individual ringlets. The rings A, B and C are visibly broad to look at and the gap between A and B is known as Cassini division. The ring particles are made of thin ice mainly, but they may also comprise rocky particles with coatings of ice.
