If a puppy, try moist food, or giving it some table scraps if he seems to beg when you are eating. No dog will starve itself on purpose. Moist food is best for puppies. Check with local pet shop, or food supplier, even grocery store, some may know the answer. Like I say, no animal goes without unless there is a problem.
