Is It Normal For A Mommy Cat To Leave Her Kittens?

Answer Question

Let's say normal, but not common. Mother cats will leave their kittens for a variety of reasons. The most probably reason for this is that someone the mom did not like or trust touched the kittens. When they are first born, unless you have a very close relationship with the cat, the kittens should not be touched. Also, if the mom cat does not feel that she can properly care for the kittens she will leave. We had an incident about a month ago where my neighbors cat had premature kittens and she ate the only surviving one because she was not producing milk and in no way capable of caring for it.

If temporary then normal, and if permanently then not normal,a cat usually come out to eat and after eating sometimes they stay ten min until they go back, and some mothers will leave for a long times this mean they have no interest in them.
