How Can You Make A Budget?

It has rightly been said that where there's money to be spent there is a budget to be made. Budget may be an ugly word, especially while shopping but it is necessary to follow one if you want to manage your money effectively. Businesses, Organisations, institutions and governments all have budgets to help them spend their funds appropriately and put their money to the best possible use.

As an individual making and following your budget is vastly different from governments and institutions but there are some general guidelines that both will adhere to. First list all your expenditures, list all your credit card statements and all other relevant records. List all your household expenditures. Make columns for easier assessment. Total them.

Now on a separate sheet list your incomes and total them. Now you need to carefully assess where your expenses can be cut down so that they are less than your income. Make a flexible family spending plan. Revise the plan after a month and adjust it wherever necessary.
