What Is Siloam?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The pre-Israelite settlement of Siloam is at present the Arab community of Silwan found in East Jerusalem, towards the southern region of the ancient city. The initial society which was created around the "serpent-stone", Zoheleth where Adonijah gave his banquet during the ear of Solomon, is the spot of the Pool of Siloam.

This pool is the location where Jesus cured a man who was blind from birth as explained by the Gospel of John and of the well-known Tower of Siloam, whose disintegration an instructive omen is talked about in the Gospel of Luke.

The Siloam inscription was found in side the water tunnel which was constructed during the rule of Hezekiah, during the early 7th century BCE. The Biblical Siloam has been praised, because of its famous healing pool.
