How Can I Vent The Bathroom Better?
I own a condo & the bathroom has been the biggest headache lately! We're not allowed to vent the dryers in the walls anymore. We have an exhaust fan & we have a dryer venting kit. The dryer creates so much heat, moisture, and lint it's making the walls disgusting! Now we have to replace drywall due to the moisture/humidity. & the lint is never ending! The condo association is of no help everytime i ask for solutions.

Do you have any experience in this area, any specific tips on what to say? I would appreciate it since I feel like no matter what I say they shut me out & I get flustered easy. I think something fishy's going on, someone said it might be becuase they're in the wrong to do this but to correct the situation might cost lots of $???? I think they must know the risks of mold, etc..to the building if every dryer is creating all that humidity in every unit's bathroom!? Thank you for answering! :)
I am guessing here. But I think your condo was built without giving considerations to having a clothe dryer in the units. Have you been venting the dryer into a plumbing pipe chase, or worse, into partition wall? If so, of course it will not work. If by dryer venting kit, you mean those plastic boxes fitted with fiberglas filter as lint and moisture trap, which stay inside your room closet...well they don't work either.
The only way is for everybody to vent to the outside. Otherwise, you will wind up with wall damages, mold and even structural damage to the buildings due to wood rot. Not to mention the damages done to your lungs from those microscopic modern artificial fibers. Now that's dangerous, and the cause to close the building to occupancy. Maybe that's why the association is trying to avoid facing the problem openly.
The good news is, as an owner, you have a great deal of clout. The owner association works for you. You and other owners can force a solution. The bad news is, you may be faced with a painful new assessment to pay for a solution. Perhaps a separate public laundry room is an easier answer, if you don't already have one.
