    Corpus Christi is a Latin term and etymologically it means the body of Jesus Christ. But you can find various places and also a festival that is known as Corpus Christi.

    The festival of Corpus Christi is celebrated on the Thursday that falls after Trinity Sunday. The festival is observed in the honour of the Eucharist.

    The places that are named after Corpus Christi are several and the main among them is situated in the US state of Texas. The city was founded in the year 1839 as a trading post
    but it got the big economic boom when the Saxtet oil field was discovered in the year 1939. The place also has a naval air base that has the same name as that of the city.
