What Was The Setting For "Dynasty"?

Answer Question

This 1980s rival to "Dallas" is also set against the background of the oil industry. This time the setting is Denver, Colorado, and the soap centres on the Carrington family. Head of the family is Blake (John Forsythe) and many of the more dramatic plotlines involve the rivalry between Blake's new wife Krystle (Linda Evans) and his vengeful ex, superbitch Alexis, played with unforgettable gusto by Joan Collins. The two have more than one fist-fight, though their enmity dies down after Krystle is kidnapped, and her place taken by a lookalike (also played by Evans) – once the "real" Krystle is restored, relations improve somewhat. Alexis also has plenty to keep her busy; for instance, her daughter Amanda (Catherine Oxenburg) marries Prince Michael of Moldavia (whose father Alexis has been sheltering in her basement) and revolutionaries with machine guns arrive to disrupt the wedding. As the series progressed the plots became more and more absurd, giving the series a bizarre cult status.
