Writer James Joyce was born on the 2nd of February in the year 1882, in a place called Rathgar, near Dublin, Ireland. He died at the age of fifty-nine, on the 13th of January in the year 1941, due to a perforated ulcer.
He is best known for his works 'Ulysses' and 'Finnegan's Wake'. He was the literary counterpart of Picasso; he jumbled up old concepts and paved the way for the twentieth century. His work avoided the conventional storyline and sentence formulation and used instead rambling, clever and complicated blends of words as well as sights and aromas that defined his characters. His work has been considered to be as challenging and quite a task to read. His other works which were not as popular include The Dubliners and A Potrait of the Artist as a Young Man.
