How Can I Get My 7 Year Old Mastiff To Accept A New Dog Into The Family?
She is so big, and my daughters little 2Lb. Shitzu have recently moved in with us. It's a big ordeal, keeping them apart, but I'm afraid she'll hurt the little one. HELP!

Well, have you put the two dogs together? Does the Mastiff have a history of being hostile towards other dogs? I don't have a Mastiff, or a shitzu. But I do have a big dog and a small dog. They had to get used to each other. We kept both on a leash and let them sniff each other a bit. If the Mastiff gets hostile towards the shitzu and he's on a leash, you can pull him back and try again some other day.

Take the two dogs into mutual grounds, somewhere neither of them have been so they are not in each others territory and if the mastif shows aggressive behaviour towards the shitzu make a noise that the mastif doesn't like so it associates that noise with aggressive/rough behaviour.
