    I Have A6-month Old Kitten With Nasal Congestion. She Seems Better When House Is Closed Up And A/C Is On. Could This Be Allergies?

    I want to make sure this nothing serious for my kitten.

    It is possible but unlikely that this is due to allergies.  More likely this is an upper respiratory infection--this is very common in young cats especially those that are unvaccinated, were strays or have come from a shelter.  Initially it is a viral infection that breaks down the body's defense system and then allows bacteria to invade.  The bacteria cause the nasal discharge, green, yellow, or gray mucous, and often sneezing.  Upper respiratory infections can lead to fever, decreased appetite, energy and thirst. 
    Your cat needs to be examined by a veterinarian and placed on appropriate medication.

      It sounds like allergies, but then I'm not a doctor. Check with your vet and see if you could get your cat some medicine. Hope everything works out. Peace.
