    Without some understanding of the data you're working with, this question cannot be answered.

    You get one formula if you're interested in air flowing in a duct of a given cross section. You get a different formula if you're interested in "rule of thumb" sizing a system for environmental control of a room or building of a particular square foot area or volume. Often, the "rule of thumb" will depend on what area of the world you are located in (that is, local climate conditions).

    CFM is an abbreviation for cubic feet per minute. Somehow, you need to learn cubic feet and minutes, then perform the division.
