What Is The Constant Gardener About?

Joe le Carre's 'The Constant Gardner' is based on the the story of Justin Quayle, who by profession is a British diplomat. He finds his wife murdered who was an activist. Believing there is more behind the murder of his activist wife, he seeks to reveal the facts hidden behind the death, only to get to his realization an international conspiracy of pharmaceutical money and corrupt bureaucracy.

After hearing that his wife was killed while driving, he investigated the case by himself to discover that she was raped and murdered by roadside bandits. With the help of his wife Tessa's cousin Ham, who was a lawyer, he started traveling around the world with a new identity and finally when he got his hands laid on the facts , all that came to his sheer disappointment and disturbance was the fact that the corrupt British foreign and Commonwealth office was a part of the murder.
