The city Stoke-on-Trent is located in Staffordshire, a ceremonial county n the West Midlands region in England. This city is actually a federation comprising six older towns (namely Stoke, Hanley, Burslem, Tunstall, Fenton and Longton) which forms a linear city that is nearly twelve miles long, having a total area of 36 square miles.
The city is about mid-way between Birmingham and Manchester. It adjoins Newcastle-under-Lyme, a town and borough that is administered separately. Jointly they form a conurbation that is a population of over 360,000 people.
