Where Is Glengyle Distillery?

Glengyle Distillery belonging to Mitchell's Glengyle Ltd is located at 85 Longrow, Campbeltown, Argyll, PA28 6EX. Campbeltown is a burg of the Argyll and Bute unitary council located along the coast and in the West of Scotland.

The distillery can be said to be old and new at the same time. The building and distillery has existed since 1872-73. It was set up then by William Mitchell. It was an independent undertaking on Mitchell's part after having squabbled with his siblings in the businesses they ran together. The distillery was sold, resold, ceased production, revived and again ceased production throughout its tumultuous history up to the 1950s. Then in 2000 the new owners formed a company, acquired the premises and the distillery has been up and running since 2004. It is expected to have its first spirits ready by the year 2014.
