How Do You Fix A Car Seatbelt?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Seat belts consist of the retractor mechanism that pulls the belt into place and seizes when pressure is applied, a buckle that roams freely at one end of the belt, a clasping mechanism and finally the belt made of strong nylon material. The retractor mechanism is affixed to the lower part of the cars body on both sides.

These retractors are mostly spring loaded and they may have to be replaced when damaged. Then the clasp is fitted near the centre and in the case of the front seats to the body of the car and in the case of the rear seats to the seats themselves.

It is very important that seat belts be installed in the correct manner as improperly fixing them is dangerous and risky. Those that are installed by the manufacturer at the factory are provided with much needed structural support.
