My Last Name Is Zinze Grandfather Is From Calabria, Is This Truly An Italian Surname?
Is this truly an Italian surname? Nor do you think it was changed. Looking for my Italian family. Grandfather's name was john Batista zinze - born Calabria in the 1890's. I have no other info.

From the names that come up with Zinze on the US census, I wonder if there could be a German connection? Possibly from Zinzendorf in Saxony, in eastern Germany? It might be worth pursuing anyway. Good luck.
