What Do Sparkle Mean?

    Sparkle means "to give off sparks or to glitter." Some of the apt synonyms of the word "sparkle" are glitter, glisten, flicker, flash, shine, twinkle, glint, wink, shimmer, glimmer etc. The light which is produced out of a sparkle is quick and brilliant. A sparkle of light is radiant, effervescent and gleaming.  Sparkle can also mean a brilliant feat.

    Here are examples of the usage of the word in different sentences:

    1. She has amazing eyes that sparkle with glee whenever she smiles.
    2. The comedian's amazing wit sparkled the rest of the evening.
    3. The champagne of the best variety is known by its frosty appearance and its brilliant sparkle.

    Sparkle is known to have entered popular English literature for the first time in beginning of the 14th century.
