    Hay-market Riot happened in Chicago, America on May 4, 1886 and is considered to be the cause of International May Day, observed by workers. The following were some of the short term and long term effects of Hay Market Riot.
    - Strikes by the workers all over America.
    - Killing of protesters by the police.
    -Protests all around the world because of death sentence to the protesters who were supposedly responsible for bomb blast at the Hay-Market.
    -  eight-hour work day has become law now
    - Recognition of rights of labors all around the world.
    - More rights are given to labors now.
