    See a doctor before you start your exercise regime

    Go regularly, get into the habit of going and enjoying it

    Do take a towel and a bottle of water to the gym, wipe off the equipment when you've used it.

    Use a personal trainer to help you develop a programme you can stick to.

    Try to enjoy yourself, find equipment that you like using

    DONTS

    Push yourself if it starts to hurt

    Give up just because you aren't seeing immediate changes or losing loads of weight immediately, muscle weighs heavier than fat remember!

    Drink too much water, it can make you sick

    Eat before you go to the gym, the blood required to aid digestion will make you feel sick if it is needed by other body parts.

    Take your mobile into the gym

    Be afraid to ask someone for help, even a fellow gym bunny if they can help you use a piece of equipment.
