Who Were The Hollywood Stars?

The Hollywood Stars basically was a minor league baseball team which use to play in the Pacific Coast League throughout the early and mid 20th century.

The initial version of the Hollywood Stars was formed in the year 1903 as the Sacramento Solons, which was a licensed associate of the PCL. The team later shifted to Tacoma in the year 1904 where it bagged the banner of Tacoma Tigers. In the year 1905, the team shifted back to Sacramento and later shifted to Fresco in the year 1906 and eventually left the PCL completely.

The latter version of the Hollywood Stars joined the PCL in the year 1909 and were known as the Vernon Tigers. The Hollywood stars holds the dubious distinction of being the foremost team to substitute the customary bloused baseball trousers and stirrup sock for shorts and elongated socks.
