Chickens In My Garden----- How Do I Get Them To Stay Out And Leave My Vegetables And Plants Alone?

I have chickens, and don't get me wrong, I love them - but they won't stay out of my garden once my vegetables start becoming ripe. How do I get them to stay out and leave my vegetables and plants alone?

Sounds like you could use a tall wire fence around your plants, maybe even make it as tall as you and put in a door somehow maybe even a wire roof, or get a greenhouse.

We live out in the country, on 13 acres with no neighbors for at least 4 miles. I have a greenhouse, but that is only to start my plants. I have built wire cages out of hogwire for my vegetables, however to enclose my whole vegetable garden.....well, it is about 60' x 60' - that is a lot of fence. I was looking for some type of plant, or something alternative. You know how if you have cats digging in your flower beds you can plant moth balls along the edge of your beds and the cats won't cross them due to the smell? Anyone have any suggestions like that?

If it were me, I would be having a heck of a lot of chicken dinners with great sides of veggies from my garden.
