MAP stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure. A map sensor is used for measuring vacuum pressure and helps in controlling the air and fuel mixture and well as timing. You have not mentioned which car's Map Sensor you want to replace. However, generally these steps must be followed:
- Start by Locating the sensor.
- Disconnect the negative cable for the battery.
- Unplug wiring harness and the vacuum hose.
- There are two screws that are holding the sensor in place, Unscreq them.
- Remove the old sensor and Reverse the above procedure to install a new sensor.
