What Kind Of Training And Qualification Is Required To Become A Dancer?
Answers
Every dance style requires different type of training and is an essential module of a professional dancer's career. Usually a dancer spends at least 8 hours of training a day, in the form of rehearsals, in order to keep their bodies in shape and fit for the performances. They are required to do warm up exercises before every performance.
Many dancers do not take formal education as important as training and rehearsing for dancing because it is extremely time consuming and exhausting. Although experts think it is good for the career of a dancer to take formal training in music, art, dance, performance, history, literature and drama. This makes it easier for them to interpret their expressions during dancing because they have a better understanding.
There are many universities offering majors in dancing especially in theatre, arts and performance. For example The National Association of Schools of dance is currently offering programs.
Although a college degree is not required to become a professional dancer but it is believed if a person goes through proper education and training it will always enhance his career. However in order to teach dancing and later become a choreographer, a person needs to be qualified and educated.
