In our heart mitral or bicuspid valve are present. A condition develops when these valves can not close tightly, called mitral valve regurgitation. It require treatment which is by medicine and by open heart surgery. Surgery is done in order to repair it. If these valves are not repairable the its replacement is done. This replacement can by either by metal valve or biological tissue valve. The biological tissue valve is actually the pig valve.

my late husband had to have a heart valve replacement and they used a pig valve- yes a heart valve from a real pig, and it alone cost over $25,000. I have heard that a pig's biological makeup is the closest to a human's/ { so there all you "we came from apes" people! } unfortunately his surgery was done too late, and he had a fatal stroke.
