I've Heard Lakeland Terriers Can Be A Bit Of A Handful, Is That True?

Answer Question

No, that is not true at all. In fact, Lakeland terriers are one of the most docile and friendly breeds of dogs. But they are bold and confident, which often misleads people to believe that they are aggressive. They are neither shy nor disobedient. They are fiercely proud and intelligent. However it must be noted that a Lakeland terrier can be independent and stubborn, especially when they are out on a hunting expedition. They can also be pretty difficult to train. Lakelands are a cross between a fox terrier and an Airedale terrier. They possess a high level of energy and great stamina.

They are best suited for hunting foxes and rabbits, especially in the hostile rocky mountain terrains in the United Kingdom, where it is impossible to go on foot or on horseback. Lakeland terriers, which originate in the Lake district of England, apparently derive their energy from running with the hounds all day long.
