Komodo dragon is a specie of lizards. It is native to the Islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores and Gili Motang. It is the largest living species of Lizards on earth that grows to around 2-3 meters.
There are no other carnivorous animals on these islands so they fill the niche for them in these islands. They dominate the ecosystem of these islands because of their large size. They eat carrion mostly. However, they also hunt and ambush all kinds of animals such as invertebrates, birds and also mammals.
