Water Does Not Go In Washer, Can You Help?

Answer Question

    1. Check to make sure the outlet to the washer has power.
    2. Listen for any kind of "hum" noise coming from the back of the washer when you turn it on.
    3. Turn off water at wall and disconnect hoses from back of machine. Look inside where the hoses connect and make sure that the screens inside the inlet valves aren't clogged with mineral deposits. You might be able to clean it out or replace the screens, but most likely you will need to replace the valve. They are cheap and easy to replace. While you are at it, make sure that the water faucets work properly.
    4. Before you buy a valve, you should probably open the unit and test to see if there is power going to the valve when the machine is turned on to the beginning of a cycle (when it would fill with water.) To test this you will need a volt meter (you can get a cheap one at radio shack for 10 bucks).

If you find that there is not power going to the inlet valve, it is probably the timer switch, but you would be better off calling a professional for this, since it could be a number of different things depending on the model.
