    Susanna Wesley is the mother of John Wesley. John Wesley is the founder of Methodism. John Wesley was a preacher who lived in the 18th century England. Epworth in England was his birthplace. Susanna Wesley, mother of John Wesley was born in 1669 and died in 1742. Susanna Wesley is known as the Mother of Methodism. She married Samuel Wesley when she was just nineteen and had several children.

    She was a remarkable woman. Though she was not formally educated she knew how to read and write because of her father. She after becoming a mother used to devote an hour each day of a week to a particular child. In this hour she would care for the progress, fears and expectations of that child thus slowly drawing out the child to express everything and self examine him/her.
