What Are The World's Energy Sources?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The world's energy sources include oil, coal, natural gas, nuclear power, hydro-power, solar energy, wind energy and tidal energy. There are also certain other unconventional energy sources such as energy from trash and geo thermal energy.

Oil was first drilled out using oil wells nearly a hundred and fifty years ago and supplies nearly forty percent of the world's energy requirement. The basic advantage of oil has been the relative ease with which it was acquired and the very economic nature in which it could be drilled, refined, transported, stored and used. Rising demand all over the world and an countries like Saudi Arabia, who were willing to increase production, reaching the peak in production capacity has led to a drastic increase in prices of Crude Oil.
