Captain America is the alter ego of Steve Rogers. He is one of the better known famous superheroes who were introduced by Marvel Comics. His creators are Jack Kirby and Joe Simon. His first appearance was in the first volume of his self titled Captain America Comics. Also known as Timely, Captain America became very famous during the Golden Age of Comic Books. What this comic book was known for was its highly patriotic theme that came at the time of the World War.

The comic also features themes from the war such as fighting the Nazis and the Japanese. The presence of the Allied and Axis power dynamics were also included into the series as much as possible. When Captain America's sidekick Bucky died, he was replaced with the captain's girlfriend Betsy Ross, who then took on the title of the Golden Girl.
