My Cat Has Feline Leukemia, Can I Cure It At Home If So How ?

Answer Question

No. Unfortunately, there is no cure for feline lukemia.  Some kittens are born with it, and other cats contract it through fights and sexual contact with an infected cat.  The only way to treat feline lukemia is to prevent it w/ vaccinations. A cat w/ this disease should be kept indoors and be closely monitored.  At the clinic where i work, we have a couple of cats with it that lead fairly normal lives.  They have a compromised immune system, and should be kept indoors to keep them from being exposed to other illnesses from other cats (also, to protect other cats from possibly being infected with the disease). So, feline lukemia is not always an automatic death sentence for a cat, as long as you take the time to make sure it gets immediate medical attention for ANY illnesses it might encounter, even if they seem insignificant. Hope this helps.

No it is impossible to treat @ home. I had 2 cats that died from it and one living with it right now. Just get an annabiotic/steriod shot to make it perky. Sorry about my spelling!
