How Do Yo Solve: 3/m = 2m + 1 What Is The Value Of M?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

1st: Multiply both sides by m, so you end up with 3=(2m + 1)(m)
    2nd: Distribute the m, which yields 3=2m^2 + m
    3rd: Subtract 3 from both sides, so 0=2m^2 +m-3
    4th: Factor: (2m+3)(m-1)
    5th: Set each group equal to zero and solve: (2m+3=0, 2m=-3, m=-3/2.) (m-1=0, m=1.)

So m=(-3/2), and 1. You can check the answers by plugging them back into the original question and the check out.
