Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Colorado is basically a state which is located in Rocky Mountain Region of America. The area of Colorado was inhibited by Native Americans for more than 13 millennium.

There were a number of tribes living in different parts of this area. Ancient Pueblo people lived in the valleys and mesas of the plateau. Whereas Ute Nation lived in the mountain valleys of Southern part of Rocky Mountains and also the Western part. People from the Arapaho and Cheyenne Nation moved from the west for hunting purposes across the high plains.

Part of this area was disputed territory and US and Spain both claimed rights to it. Even use of US forces in 1806 was of no use. However the Adams Onis treaty of 1819 got US its rights.
