One of Britain's best authors Simon Brett's radio show, 'After Henry', dealt with women and their relationships' with each other and otherwise. It was first aired in 1985, and managed to get half of Britain, hooked on, to the radio.

It was later developed, into a television show, which again, reached a startling 14 million viewers, within the span of a few years. 'After Henry' spoke of 3 women; all from different generations living together in a house, sometimes plotting and ganging up against each other or sometimes coming together to support one another.

The central character was Sarah, Henry's widow; who's caught in the center, with a teenage daughter on one side and a very demanding mother on the other. She tries to get on with life amidst soulful and honest conversations, with her friend and gay boss.

The radio show gained popularity as it took an in depth and hard look at families and the ties that bound all its members together. The television show, which was first aired in 1988, filled in the other minute details that the radio script had left out.
