I would not advise you to use this solution on your dog's eyes. This particular medication is designed for use by humans, and therefore may not be suitable for your dog. It could also be potentially dangerous.

Also, the dosage needed for a dog will be very different to that required by humans.

It would be wiser to take your dog to the vet, rather than to run the risk of causing it serious pain and injury by attempting to treat it yourself.

If you do decide to administer this medication to your pet - something I do not recommend - and it then reacts badly, then a vet will have to be called immediately, to prevent any lasting damage to your dog's eyesight.

  • An over-dose of this medication can cause an overgrowth of fungi, which will need a further course of treatment to resolve.
  • Never inject this medication into the eye of a human, or especially a dog.
  • I would not advise you to give your dog this medication.

I would say yes. My Goldendoodle had some discharge from his eye, but didn't seem bothered by it. When we pulled back the lower lid, the area was red. Applied a couple of drops three times a day and it was gone in two days.
