What Does Situated Mean?

    According to artificial intelligence as well as in cognitive science, the expression situated generally refers to an agent which is rooted to an environment. This expression is extensively applied to address to robots, thought quiet a few researchers debate that software agents can even be situated.

    Being situated is commonly measured to be a portion of being personified, but it is better to take in both the perceptions. The situated perspective highlights the surrounding and the agent's relations with it. These relations generally define an agent's personification.

    To be measured as a bonafide agent, an agent must display the behavioural character of agent hood.  Essentially this means perceiving the software environment via sensors and performing on the environmental through actuators. This must be fulfilled individually
