But, these days the two words are required and used interchangeably.

The word pharmacogenomics comes from the terms pharmacology and genomics and because of this,it is the common thing between pharmaceuticals and genetics. Pharmacogenomics takes the promise that medicines might one day be tailor made for persons and adapted to every person's personal genetic setup.
