    Sir Francis Drake was a figure from the Elizabeth era. He worked as a navigator, privateer, Sea Captain and politician during the regime of Elizabeth I. He was even awarded a knighthood by the Queen.

    He is basically famous among English and Spanish people because of his sailing around the world. On the other hand, he was known amongst Spaniards because of his pirating activities. They called him The Dragon because of his ruthless actions against Spanish ships. He was also the first one to hold a protestant Church services in North America.
