I'm Pretty Sure I Have A Sebaceous Cyst. It Does Not Hurt. It Is In The Vulva Area. What To Do?

It was soft and "egg shaped" I could feel its entire shape between two fingers. I took a hot bath and some whitish fluid squirted out with gentle squeezing. After that it got hard. Still, it is not painful. What can I do? I notice I get one of these a couple of weeks before menses, particularly when I have been fairly stressed. I tend to sweat quite a bit and use panty shields. Your really need to know why the cyst appear in the first place. Be thankful it came to a head instead of spreading throughout your system. Now that it is open, make sure you clean your bath tub really well, keep the area dry and cool by only wearing underpants or slacks when absolutely necessary. A small dusting of powder may help with the moistness. I cant imagine the cyst not being painful, but count that a blessing. In that area, a cyst can make you wonder if you will walk again. Since it has drained the core may not have passed and when there is injury to such a sensitive part of your body, you should relate this to your gyn or family physician. There are so many things that can cause a life threatening infection with an opening, including powder. Please don't rely on home remedies for such an injury, and when the cyst opened, it became an injury.

Although I would check it out with your gynecologist, it is probably nothing. My gyn told me that there is really no reason some women get these cysts (although he said it is more common in older women). He said that warm compresses may help them to drain, but it isn't necessary to do anything with them unless they are causing problems. Just keep the area clean and as dry as possible. That's the best thing you can do.
