Find the percentage of the amount, and apply the "dollar" unit to the result.
Example
20% of $5 = $(20%*5) = $(1) = $1
Example
20% of $5 = $(20%*5) = $(1) = $1
A dollar amount has the units "dollars." A percentage is "unitless"--it has no units. To change a dollar amount to a percentage, you must first divide it by another dollar amount to get rid of the dollar units. For example, $1/$5 = 1/5 = 1/5*100% = 20%
